Why Attendance Matters!
Good attendance is one of the biggest factors in student success! When students attend school regularly, they gain important academic skills, develop social connections, and build habits that will help them in college and careers. Missing just a few days may not seem like a big deal, but absences add up quickly and can make it harder for students to catch up. At PECPS, weβre committed to helping every student succeed, and that starts with being in school every day. If your family is facing challenges with attendance, let us knowβweβre here to support you! Letβs work together to help every student reach their full potential. #SuccessStartsWithAttendance #BePresentBePowerful

What is Truancy?
Truancy isnβt just about skipping schoolβit can have serious academic and legal consequences. A student is considered truant after 7+ unexcused absences, which can lead to intervention meetings, attendance contracts, and even court involvement. The good news? Truancy is preventable! Parents can help by reporting absences, ensuring students arrive on time, and addressing any school concerns early. Schools offer support for families facing challenges like transportation or health issues. If you need help, donβt wait to reach out to your school today! Together, we can keep students on the path to success. #attendancemattersVA #BePresentBePowerful

What do teachers do during a Professional Development Day? Last Friday, teachers attended sessions on relevant topics and spent time working in their classrooms. These opportunities provide time for teachers to receive required training, subject-specific updates, and platform demonstrations.

Did you know that missing just two days a month adds up to nearly a full month of lost learning each year? Regular attendance helps students stay on track, build good habits, and succeed in school and beyond. When students miss school, they miss valuable lessons, class discussions, and opportunities to connect with teachers and friends. Families can help by setting morning routines, scheduling appointments outside school hours, and staying in touch with teachers. If your child is struggling with attendance, weβre here to help! Contact your school for support and resources. Letβs work together to make every school day count! #AttendanceMattersVA #EveryDayCounts #SOAR
