October School Board Meeting Recognition: Alice Yang and Susan Cook
PECHS is excited to celebrate two Prince Edward County High School students who were selected as winners in the 2026 One Table, Farmville essay contest! Congratulations to Susan Cook, who earned First Place for her essay, Farmville: Better Than Yesterday, and Alice Yang, who earned Third Place for her essay, United We Stand.
This year’s contest invited students to respond to the theme, “Our Community Together: the Promise of Life, Liberty and Happiness.” Both students were recognized during the One Table Community Meal and Conversation in downtown Farmville on Thursday, September 24.
As part of the celebration, winning essays will also be shared publicly through community partners, including The Farmville Herald. We are especially proud that Susan’s and Alice’s writing will help contribute to broader community conversations and showcase the thoughtful voices of our PECHS students.
Please join us in congratulating Susan and Alice on this outstanding accomplishment. We are proud of the way they represented Prince Edward County High School through their writing, ideas, and engagement with our community.
